Here is a really good running and driving 1996 Chevy Silverado 1500 SWB Stepside truck with the 5.7 liter engine. The engine runs great and the transmission shifts out like it should. This is a drive anywhere truck. This truck was bought new in Georgia and has stayed in Georgia it's whole life. It is a good solid rust free southern truck. The clear coat is peeling off the paint so truck needs a paint job. Very little body work will be needed though. The interior is in good condition. The seat, carpet, headliner, door panels and dash all look good. Everything works like it should including AC and heat. The bed has a toolbox and spray in bedliner. The 4WD works good. Carfax shows that in 2001 this truck was involved in a Severe accident and that the title is branded ( Rebuilt or Salvage ). We just bought this truck and the current Georgia title does not say or show rebuilt or salvage. I don't know the circumstance behind this but you would never know it had been wrecked by driving it. Being that the accident was 21 years ago it was certainly fixed correctly. The odometer shows 202,000 miles but engine does not smoke or leak anything that I have seen. I would get in it and drive it anywhere.
