The 2011 Camaro Convertible is the 22nd Chevrolet and the 7th Camaro to be chosen to pace the Indy 500. The orange and white color combo is similar to the 1969 Camaro Indy Pace Car, replicas of which have become among the most popular Camaros in the collector car world. All the Camaro pace car convertibles are SS models equipped with the 6.2 liter engine and the choice of a 6 speed manual or 6 speed automatic. In 2011 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction along with Chevrolet auctioned the first 50 Indianapolis 500 Festival Committee car with all the proceeds going to Charity. The first one across the block sold for $225,000. All the Camaro pace car and the Festival Committee car are SS Convertibles fitted with the 2SS equipment package.
